On September 9th, economists from across the world gathered in Berkeley to celebrate the career of Rich Gilbert, emeritus faculty in the economics department. The conference featured a lineup of distinguished speakers, see agenda here, who both presented research related to innovation and competition economics and highlighted the impact that Rich has had throughout his career as a researcher, instructor, adviser and policymaker. The conference also served as an official public launch of the Gilbert Center, funded by a generous donation from Rich and Sandra Gilbert.
